The World Trade
Organization committee started on a respectful note with a moment of silence
for the delegate of Qatar's loss. However the committee was up and running in
no time. The delegate of U.K. started a motion to start the GSL on the second topic
of the committee which was "Formulation of trade policies after BREXIT".
The delegates were enrolled
in making the final touches for their speech as other delegates spoke about how
BREXIT affected their countries. Speakers were flooded with questions by
delegates forcing the Dais to entertain no more questions. Delegates new to the
MUN were not familiar with the procedures which were cleared by the concerned
dais. Delegates of USA, Austria, Scotland, Spain and U.K. showed enthusiasm
with great debating skills. They were active throughout the discussions.
After a handful of topics
were introduced for the moderated caucus, the majority of the committee voted
on the topic "effects BREXIT on national economies". It was a warm
atmosphere as delegates presented helpful solutions for the problems. With
delegates well prepared for the heated discussions, in the first day, the WTO
committee was running as planned.
